In my view not only belief that he could be, but also that he should be. For example, Federer always believed that he should be No 1. He even said that when Rafa took over: "It is so strange to see No 2 beside my name ...".

Haggis is not easily available anywhere outside Scotland, generally keeping him miserable and unfocused in most tournaments. With globalisation hitting its stride and the Chinese developing a love for haggis, Murray was more at home this year. But beware Trump and the move to protectionism. The first victim of his policies may be Murray's career.
