Kobe and Nadal have something in common.
What is it?
First correct answer = Wall Of Fame listing.
Winner / Correct answer: Monday, April 16, 2018.
HINT:
You don't have to be NBA nerd to be aware of the 'Kobe' part. Heck, some may say just a casual sports fan would be enough.
Translation: It's freaking 'glaring'.
They both successfully used PEDs without anyone noticing it

They both spentt large parts of their careers without getting sufficient respect. For Kobe, it was mainly about if could he win without Shaq. For Rafa, it was being considered second best to a guy he regularly beat.

Co winners🤔☺

They spent the better part of their career chase GOAT status, unsuccessfully.

Both staged a successful comeback to the top

Both competed/competing within unequivocally MALE-gender framework?

Oh, I know. They both started their career with full head of hair and went progressively more and more bold ...
Posted by: Veglia | 04/11/2018 at 08:03 AM
Both are against the will of the fans in their quest for GOAT status.

"...against the will of the fans..."

That should be a HELP, right?

Maybe if you can channel it correctly? maybe it could also be deflating if you keep missing?

Good one Ha Ha

Ok I think I got it now..
Both develop PED pimples when they blush
Posted by: Kitty | 04/13/2018 at 02:21 PM
Got it now, got this idea yesterday without posting. They both are good at getting triple doubles?
Posted by: O | 04/13/2018 at 03:39 PM
Where's Veglia when you need him?
Posted by: Alpha | 04/14/2018 at 12:02 AM
They both regret that neither of names include either "roger" or "federer"
!!!!!
Posted by: Paul | 04/14/2018 at 05:32 AM
Both went from long hair to bald hair for using PEDs while chasing a goat all their life
Posted by: Kitty | 04/14/2018 at 05:52 AM
If the "glaring" hints at them getting bold, then I've said it already. See above. Kitty has further elaborated on the topic and offered a more fulsome answer. I already lost one or two WoF because I was lazy to type ... One to Gary recently, I remember that.

Both have "animals" as their logo -- mamba and bull.
Posted by: Alpha | 04/14/2018 at 04:57 PM
Both came on the scene as a teenager, and had many extra years to chase down the GOAT status.
Posted by: O | 04/15/2018 at 01:38 PM
They both are afflicted with OCD.

Correct answer: No. 81.

Good one TP. I should’ve got it. I think you’re giving the casual sports fan too much credit. If you have equivalence, ask the basketball fan what 81 means to tennis. See how many correct answers you get. That just about the same number of tennis fans that knew #81 was meaningful for Kobe.
Posted by: Alpha | 04/17/2018 at 04:05 AM
81?
Posted by: Veglia | 04/17/2018 at 05:35 AM
Ah, so 81 wins on clay VS 81 points in a game. Yes, you do give us too much credit.
Posted by: Veglia | 04/17/2018 at 03:05 PM
One is a stat WITHIN ONE CONTEST...the other a stat related to a SERIES OF CONTESTS.
One is an all-time record within that sport...the other isn't.
( pause )
Small wonder I've won only one WOFC --- just not how my mind works.

"You don't have to be NBA nerd to be aware of the 'Kobe' part. Heck, some may say just a casual sports fan would be enough."
Above refers EXCLUSIVELY for the 'Kobe' part (81 points) - and it comes with 'some may say' meaning it's possible that 'most' may still not know.
Regarding 'equivalence', if this was the basketball site the process would have been reverse meaning 'Nadal' part would have been as 'glaring' as the 'Kobe' part was here to accommodate 'cursory' knowledge of tennis from a basketball fan.
Point: Expecting basketball fans to be aware of Nadal's 81 is FAR extreme than expecting tennis fan to be aware of Kobe's 81 - as most media outlets had that as a headline - while the feat was in progress - forget when it was done.

All I can say, it was a good TP WoF. Standard trivia can be found on other sites. Now, Ingemar Stenmark has something in common too wrt 81. What is it?
Posted by: Veglia | 04/17/2018 at 06:09 PM
total Slalom?
Posted by: Kitty | 04/18/2018 at 06:06 AM
No, that would be too easy but also incorrect. He is 181cm tall, which is exactly 81 cm more than a meter. Doesn't that qualify as "having something in common"? OK, maybe a bit of a stretch :)
BTW, he has 86 World Cup wins. Stenmark and Borg, both from Sweden in the late 70's / early 80's glory days ...
Posted by: Veglia | 04/18/2018 at 08:37 AM
I thought you had a global following TP ? Kobe’s 81 barely made headlines in my village.
Posted by: Alpha | 04/18/2018 at 03:43 PM
Who is Kobe???
Posted by: Veglia | 04/18/2018 at 04:03 PM
More like what is Kobe?
Posted by: Alpha | 04/18/2018 at 04:57 PM
That I know. Funny his parents actually named him after it. True story
Posted by: Veglia | 04/18/2018 at 06:08 PM
And Roger was born in 1981. Is this the greatest number in history?
