Well it's just surreal to watch Augusta during the autumn and not see the azaleas in bloom. Shots are STICKING as soon as they land and the course is definitely playing easier. I don't know much about the game but I can see that!

(btw Gary---the first half hour or so of Raising Arizona is one of the best half hours of comedy I've ever seen. I'm going to have to rewatch it now!)

Hey, Bettyjane:

It boggles my mind that it's been a THIRD OF A CENTURY since Raising Arizona came out in 1987 ---
I loved it on first viewing! --- and yet I'm STILL "catching up" with much of the rest of
the Coen Brothers filmography [ "Fargo" many years ago, naturally, while "The Big Lebowski"
and "Burn After Reading" have recently become favorites of mine, as well ].

Beyond those 4...what others would you recommend?

Bettyjane

I have vague memories of some of the others so I can't say they made the impression on me of the ones you just mentioned. I very recently saw the black comedy "A Serious Man" and it's certainly not a lighthearted film but really quite terrific in its own right. Not that this matters a damn but I believe it was Oscar nominated for best film.

Just quickly scanned the Wikipedia article for "A Serious Man" and...wow...sounds like my kinda film.

The fact that it stars Michael Stuhlbarg --- who I absolutely LOVE as the Arnold Rothstein character
in BOARDWALK EMPIRE --- would make me want to check it out.

Thanks!

Tiger starts like a house afire in Round 1 on Thursday: 4-under-par after 10 holes!

Then...a limp 1-under-par over the next 44 holes by the time he finished Round 3 on Saturday ---
leaving him at only 5-under going into Sunday's final round ---
while leader Dustin Johnson is currently at 14-under.

What a waste of a great start [ especially at age 44 with a permanently iffy back ].
