Nole is probably thrilled to not have Medvedev in his draw.

Dimitrov, after his loss to Karatsev:
"I just got a back spasm yesterday, and that was it," Dimitrov said. "We couldn't fix it on time. It happened early in the match and kept progressing. It was unstoppable.
"I couldn't put my socks on before the match, so I knew it was going to be tough. I tried, but it wasn't good enough."
Witnesses not getting their story straight goes way back, but...not getting YOUR OWN story straight?
"It happened early IN the match" versus "I couldn't put my socks on BEFORE the match" ------ WHICH?

Dimitrov could have taken a page from Ash Barty's classy response to imploding after a timeout by Muchova. She clearly lost her rhythm after that, wouldn't blame the opponent or the rules-- should definitely have righted herself by the third set,has all this pressure at her home slam and stayed classy after the match. (And the post-match net exchange---when do you see THAT kind of class in a WTA match)
