Off topic but can anyone tell me what Louis Armstrong has to do with tennis? Not a snotty remark; just curious. I "get" Arthur Ashe stadium (a wonderful man and player) and I "get" Billie Jean King stadium (she was a great player, too, and did a lot of good for women's tennis), but Louis Armstrong I don't "get".

It's a valid question. As a New Yorker I can answer it. He lived in the area until his death. In fact there is a museum you can visit in Corona---it's actually his house, where he lived until his death and was made an historic landmark. So really, there is no tennis connection, just an iconic musician who happens to live a stones throw from where the Open is played. They probably just as easily could have named it "Paul Simon Stadium" if he was dead since the singer is from Queens as well.
